for Record Price
Sale of rare issue of Detective Comics smashes recent sale price
Comic Safari is pleased to announce it has set a record sale for a scarce copy of an issue of Detective Comics featuring an early appearance of Batman.
Detective Comics 31 features the fifth appearance of Batman and the copy sold by
Comic Safari is graded at 1.8 by CGC, which is one of only 4 copies at this grade on the CGC census. Detective Comics 31 features a prolific cover by Batman creator Bob Kane and also introduces the Batplane along with Bruce Wayne's first love interest, Julie Madison. The issue also features an early Batman villain known as The Monk.
On September 26th a CGC 1.8 Detective Comics 31 sold at auction for $17,000.00. Three days later,
Comic Safari sold a copy of the same issue in the same grade for an amazing $24,000.00.

Comic Safari.
